Well, I did their trip to Hollywood, to audition for agents there, and it was FAbulous!!!! Really worth doing! Ended up auditioning for 16 top agents in Hollywood, got a great new headshot by Alan Weissman, had two classes at the Stella Adler Studio, which were brilliant, and generally had a fantastic time! One of the most valuable parts of the experience was the advice and information from the agents - we got to ask questions after each audition session (we did two with 5 agents in each, and a third with 6 agents).

I highly reccomend it for anyone who wants to work in LA. Let me know if you have any questions.

hey charlotte,

I've just recently applied to hollywoodherei.com and can't find out anywhere what fees there are involved, so if you find out anything then let me know!

Hi Charlotte and Rosie :)

Yes, there are fees, and it's a lot (there are three different options) - but when I found that out, although it's a lot of money to get together, I felt that considering I didn't even know it was possible an opportunity like this existed - being able to audition for top Hollywood agents (I know that it's really difficult to even get to meet just one of them, never mind audition for 16 of them!), I felt it was priceless. So I didn't feel it was a lot of money for what it was, just that it was a lot to physically come up with. But I was determined, and I managed to make a plan, and it was well worth it. :) I did the full package, and it was worth every penny.

As for getting accepted, I sent my application and then my C.V. and headshot, and then got the email saying I'd been accepted.

Good Luck, and let us kniow if you get in.

Hi Charlotte :)

They'll send you all the information for the different options, but here's an idea of the differences between the three...

The first option is litterally just to audition on the day - so you make your own way to Hollywood, organise your own accommodation, monologues, headshots and Resume, and then turn up on the day for the auditions.

The second one, you go to Hollywood for ... I think it was 5 days, share a hotel room with one other person, you get a shoot with Alan Weissman ( http://www.alanweissman.com/ ) and 25 prints of your headshot from him; a standard Hollywood resume template and advice on your resume etc; suggested monologues; a session at the Stella Adler Actors Studio to perfect your monologues; a consultation with an imigration lawyer, and a talk from an industry professional (on the trip I went on, it was one of the top agencies who did the talk - very interesting, and you can ask questions etc.) and then of course, the auditions on the day. I think that was it for the second one - I did the third one.

The third one is 10 days in Hollywood, your own hotel room (really nice hotel) with kitchen and breakfast included (there's also a gym, swimming pool and free internet in the hotel); an extra session at the Stella Adler Actors Studio (which was really fAbulous), as well as the one mentioned above to perfect the monologues; a make-over and consultancey with a Hollywood image consultant (who was really lovely, and really good at what she does!); a day at Universal Studios + a visit to the Hollywood sign, walk of fame etc.; photo shoot with Alan Weissman + 100 prints; the standard Hollywood resume etc.; suggested monlogues; a special dinner; a video shoot of your three monologues; the consultation with the imigration lawyer, talk from the industry professional (as mentioned above for the second option), and then of course, the audtions. You also get ongoing support, career advice etc, and a possible offer of management.

As I say, they'll give you more details and specifics, but hopefully that gives you an idea. :)

By the way, if you'd like me to reccomend you, send me a pm with the link to your CV etc. And I'll mention your name to them. Then, if you mention my name when you first contact them, they may give you a discount because of being reccomended. ;)

Wow fantastic! Sounds really good.. i'd love to option 3. Did they want the fees upfront?

Thanks for the informative reply.

Yes, the fees are payable before you actually go - which I felt was fair enough. You pay a deposit when you confirm with them, and then you have time to pay the rest - I don't know how long it will be because I guess it depends on how long before the trip you book. :)

Hi Rosie :)

Unfortunately I didn't get a callback (although several others did). I think I should have gone with a different monologue. I plan to go back again, and this time choose a monologue that will be more effective. I went with an American character because I wanted to show that I could use a convincing American accent, but I should have rather used an English accent because, of course that's why they would choose me over an American - to play an English character. I advise using your own accent for whatever monologue you do. ;)

Whereas in the past they used to get an American actor to play a Russian for example, they would now rather use a Russian actor if one is available. So if you have a regional accent, I would advise using that. :)

Hope this helps. xxx
