and you too! Happy 4th OF Julyy!:)
Looks like you are doing great. Thanks for posting on my page, nice to meet you. Hang in there, remember the average for booking a national spot is 1 in 83, so you have to be tough, and it sounds like you are. Dealing with rejection can get to you, but it will make you a better person. And my hunch is you're gonna work a lot.
I mentioned this to someone else, but what helped me the most with auditioning for commercials was trying to learn to do stand up comedy. Sure I wanted to write a good set, but I was more there to work on my comic timing and practice living in the moment. That really did give me an edge. Later on I did take some commercial classes, but the stand up comedy was way better.
Early on I couldn't afford acting classes. Paying the rent was hard enough. I went to trying stand up comedy to get free acting lessons. Talk about throwing yourself out on a hot frying pan! I bombed really bad my first time. But slowly I got better, and it helped me a lot to think on my feet, and have no fear of any casting after being in front of a comedy club. It gave me a set of skills that made it easier to audition for me.
Just a thought. Many comedy clubs have an open mic night. Write some stuff, and go for it! Might end up on a sit-com.
